BSc Engg in Computer Science & Engineering

Objective

The aim of BSc Engg course in Course in Computer Science 8: Engineering at USTC is to make the students skilled and efficient Professionals and Experts and also to enable them to be prospective scholars of Post-Graduate Study and Research in this challenging area of Computer Technology.

Facilities

At present the Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) is having two will- equipped Computer and Hardware Laboratories which are rich with sophisticated and latest software and electronic equipment / trainer. Strong emphasis is given on Software Technology and the students are working independently with latest Pentium 111 Personal Computers networked through very high capacity servers. Simultaneously the students are trained on Optical Fibre based trainers which make them skilled and efficient in high speed and efficient data communication and Computer Networking environment. Full-time INTERNET facilities are available in the Faculty.

Admission

Students having minimum 2nd division in both SSC (with Math & Physics) or equivalent may apply for admission into BSc Engg course in Computer Science and Engineering. The selection process comprises of a written test that will be based on Higher Secondary level Physics (30 Marks), Mathematics (30 Marks) and English (20 Marks).

Curriculum

Curriculum of the BSc Engg course in Computer Science and Engineering was designed keeping in mind the objective of the course and after thorough revision of the undergraduate curriculum of the leading national and foreign Universities and in consideration of the opinions of national pioneers and experts of Computer Science and Information Technology. The course consists of 162.5 credit hours of study and the whole curriculum is divided into eight (8) different parts to cover in eight (8) subsequent semesters.

Admission fee & other Charges

Fee Structure of BSc Engg course in Computer Science and Engineering at USTC is very-competitive and for the current session the financial requirement is as follows

(A) For Bangladeshi Students

At the time of admission into the lst semester a sum of total BDT 53,000/ - ( Taka fifty three thousand only) is payable in the form of Bank Demand Draft (DD) in favour of ’Ianasheba Foundation’.

Admission Fee (One Time) BDT 15,000/
1st Semester Fee BDT 38,000/
Total BDT 53,000/-

For every subsequent Semester (2nd to 8th Semester) the students have to pay semester fee of BDT 38,000/ - (Taka thirty eight thousand only).

 

(B) For Foreign Students

Admission/ Development Fee US$ 1,000/ - One time
Semester Fee US$ 1,000/
Faculty Development US$ 400/ - One time
Total US$ 2,500/-

Total US Dollar two thousand five hundred only payable in the form of Bank Demand Draft/ TT in favour of ’Ianasheba Foundation, Bangladesh’ at the time of admission into 1st semester. For every subsequent semester (2nd semester onward) the students will have to pay semester fee US$ 1,000 / - (US Dollar one thousand) only at the beginning of the each semester. The tuition fee will be deposited to the USTC accounts department in the form of Bank Demand Draft, Pay Order or Cash on monthly basis within first 10 (ten) days of every month without fine.

The students (both Bangladeshi and Foreign) will have to pay semester fees so long as they continue to remain students. Anyone failing to pay semester fee within ten days from the commencement of each semester will have to pay a fine of EDT 50/ - per day and will cease to be a student after one month. Re-admission may be taken within 15 days on payment of BDT 1500/ - in addition to the fine. Failing this the case will be dealt with by the Review Committee and the decision of the Syndicate shall be final. Fees are non-refundable for the course. Other fees and charges may be determined by USTC from time to time.
